Thank you for visiting the Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital website.
Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital opened in October 1991 with the responsibility of being a teaching hospital for Dongguk University College of Medicine, the only medical school in Gyeongbuk that opened in 1986, and with the mission of providing regional medical care in southern Gyeongsangbuk-do and the East Sea region.
In the meantime, our hospital responded to MERS by opening a nationally designated isolation ward, and until recently, provided at-home medical treatment for COVID-19 in areas such as Gyeongju, Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, and Cheongdo, and opened an infectious disease inpatient treatment bed and a screening clinic. We have taken the lead in responding to the infectious disease crisis.
In addition, in cooperation with Gyeongju City, we have established an emergency medical treatment system with specialists in infants and toddlers, pediatricians, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are receiving great response not only from Gyeongju City, but also from nearby Pohang City, Ulsan Buk-gu, and Yeongcheon City, contributing to improving the health of local residents.
In order to fulfill its role as a regional base hospital focused on acute care, we are not only introducing expensive, cutting-edge medical equipment, but are also actively promoting the expansion of professional manpower and facilities to improve the level of treatment. A stroke intensive care unit has been established, and all conditions are being prepared with the goal of attracting a serious emergency medical center in the near future, including the opening of a gynecological laparoscopic surgery specialty center, expansion of the respiratory specialty center, intensive care unit, and operating room, and introduction of robotic surgery.
